Thoughts about spam

Yellow wildflowers

Spam is not so bad.

When I was little,

my dad gave me spam to eat.

It was ok.

Later, my students made me try spam mususbi.

It was pretty good (if you like spam).

Now I find spam on my blogs.

At first, I was like, “Oh, no. I got spam.”

I’ve seen people make poems out of it.

Some of them are very good.

Spam is like weeds in your garden;

sometimes,

when you look away,

they grow.

And sometimes, they bloom into

beautiful wildflowers,

reminding you

that you are not alone

in the field.

And I love spam’s

creative use

of language.
