sweet apples

Nice!

mypenandme

she peers into a comma’s misfortune
too long a dig
to the bottom
of a heart’s quarry
where word associations rest
rotting like sweet apples
intertwined within
century-old roots
she smiles
grateful for her lack of utterances
and His grace-filled promise
